The SEMI Apprenticeship programs is designed to help meet the growing talent needs of the electronics industry by enabling more workers to pursue careers in electronics. As one pillar of the SEMI Works program, the apprenticeship program is based on industry- and academic-approved competency lists. The lists are based on the Expanding Community College Apprenticeships (ECCA) initiative led by the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) with funding from the US Department of Labor (USDOL).
Initially developed in partnership with GLOBAL FOUNDRIES, the program leverages SEMI's Unified Competency Model (UCM) aimed at building an industry-wide talent pipeline.
